SAMbot was deployed for the 2021 Canadian federal election period (August 15-September 20, 2021). SAMbot collected data and insights about the online abuse directed at party leaders and incumbent candidates who ran for re-election across the country. Post-election, the Samara Centre for Democracy and Areto Labs are now reviewing the collected data to conduct further analysis, to be released in a Final Report. This is being done with the intention of developing informed conclusions about online toxicity, civic engagement and democracy in Canada.
